This is the cover art for Michelle Williams upcoming album( August 12). I think it is a stunning picture of Michelle and it captures the essences of this whole Unexpected project. Her lead single We Break the Dawn is garnering mild success. However there is an issue that could hinder the success of the song. Although Michelle appeared on MTV's TRL yesturday, rival network BET will not play the video because it is not urban enough. That is a slap in the face and BET picks and chooses when they want to be just urban and when they want to be more inclusive of all music types. Keep in mind this is the same network that just had Madonna on 106 & Park and they played her video,Ray of Light. The most non-urban song . They have also aired videos by N'SYNC, Britney Spears, and Christina Augilera. It is a shame that because Michelle's music is unique and not fitting into an urban vernacular that BET will not play the video. She needs all the help she can get because the single is not as out there as it should be. With all that said she will be embarking on a promotional tour pretty soon and she will do the morning concerts on one of the CBS,ABC or NBC morning shows. I am one of her biggest fans and I hope this project surpasses everyones expectations. I am expected the unexpected. ( yea I know thats corny)
